With the Trident float scheduled for Jan 10th, shareholders should receive some very good news by then - and hopefully sooner!

Looks like the trdient float has been delayed and a frankly disappointing announcement from the company today so the Trident stake might not be quite as exciting as we all thought?

It was valued at 4 million in the accounts if I recall, but 10% of the stake has raised 250k. If trident had been valued at 100 million unless I have my numbers wrong the stake might have been worth 8 million. it may be the rest will raise better figures but they might be better to keep it until Trident floats and the market might mark up the shares as the sector is still hot.

'The Board of Waltech announced on 4 November 2005 that it had received a number
of approaches from third parties interested in acquiring part of its
shareholding in Trident, the unlisted global online gaming company specialising
in sports betting that recently acquired Gamebookers and BetBug. The Board is
pleased to announce that it has sold GBP250,000 worth of shares which
represented
approximately 10% of Waltech's holding in Trident, thereby realizing a profit
of GBP242,308.'

my adice to others would be to sell, doubly disappointing as it is one of my Saucepan comp picks! :*)

Bring this one up because the thread heading shows that this might be one gambling stock worth a look. Waltech have a substantial stake in Trident Gaming which is still due to float this year and I would have thought they now have an ideal sales pitch!

My one concern remains management, whose track record is less than inspiring, but they might be looking at an open goal here!

The last I heard was that PRTY acquired Gambookers from Trident; since then all has gone quiet.

I am told it wouldn't be the first time this management have missed an open goal!
